The Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute (IJC) is a comprehensive cancer research center dedicated to conduct research and drive innovation in the epidemiological, preventive, clinical, translational, and basic aspects of leukaemia and other hematologic malignancies, with the final aim of finding a cure for these diseases. It was created in 2010, and since then has experienced an exponential growth.

The IJC is also part of the network of Excellence Research Centers of Catalonia (CERCA) and was accredited as a Severo Ochoa Center of Excellence by the Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities in 2024. Since 2018, the Institute has also been accredited by the Scientific Foundation of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (FCAECC) Additionally, IJC is one of the centers integrated into the Institut de Recerca Germans Trias i Pujol (IGTP) accreditation as Accredited Health Research Institute (IIS) by the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII).

The IJC's main headquarters is located within the Can Ruti Biomedical Campus, alongside other leading biomedical institutions, providing direct access to cutting-edge scientific and technological facilities, as well as complementary community services. The IJC has six locations integrated into reference hospitals: Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol, Hospital Clínic, Hospital Sant Pau, Hospital Josep Trueta, Hospital del Mar and Hospital San Joan de Déu. This facilitates close collaboration between basic and clinical researchers, fostering translational research that integrates basic science with clinical practice in clinical settings.

We are looking for an Events Officer to join the IJC Communication Unit.

YOUR MISSION

The Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute (IJC) is seeking an experienced Events Officer to coordinate a diverse array of local and international events and scientific programs.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

• Responsible for planning, organizing and managing internal and external events, from concept to execution, ensuring high-quality experiences aligned with organizational goals.
• Manage on the day logistics and provide event support as agreed.
• Coordinate all event logistics (including venues, suppliers, schedules, room bookings, catering and audiovisual needs, among others).
• Ensure budget control and maximise cost efficiency.
• Work closely with internal teams to define objectives and ensure alignment.
• Ensure any new events spaces and initiatives are marketed appropriately.
• Deliver hybrid events using the webinar plattform.
• Ensure compliance with safety, security and operational standards.
• Manage post-event reports through metrics and feedback.
• Managing key stakeholders relationships (including partners, sponsors, agencies and others).
• Support the communication team with other related tasks as needed.

WHAT WE NEED

• Bachelor’s or GFGM degree in marketing, administration or similar.
• Five years minimum work experience in events management, managing multiple stakeholders.
• Experience of managing budgets
• Proficient in writing and speaking in English.

• Proactivity, initiative and solving problem’s ability.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Ability to work within tight deadlines and manage multiple events simultaneously.
• Strong organizational, planning, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively and inclusively with others to achieve shared goals.
• Excellent administrative and IT Skills – MS Office 365.
